First and foremost, I would like to send my thanks to the creators and
regular supporters of the LEAF projects (Bering in particular). I have
been using Bering 1.0 rc3 for two years now and it has proven itself to
be a very flexible, stable product.

With that being said, I am upgrading my Bering software because I need
to add additional routers into my environment. From what I have read,
it appears I can use HTB in two ways with Bering 1.2 and I'm hoping
someone can confirm before I get too deep.

1. Using Shorewall
  - include appropriate modules for htb, sfq & fw
  - modify Shorewall.conf so TC_ENABLED=yes & CLEAR_TC=yes
  - setup classes and packet marking rules in TCSTART, TCRULES

2. Using qos-htb.lrp (i.e. HTB.init)
  - include qos-htb.lrp package and declare it in syslinux.cfg
  - modify Shorewall.conf so TC_ENABLED=yes & CLEAR_TC=yes
  - setup classes and packet marking rules using HTB/CBQ style files

I'm a little confused about the CLEAR_TC parameter. I understand it
clears shaping rules when Shorewall starts but is it required to be a
particular value in either HTB scenario I mention?
