Last comment: I just saw Tom's latest reply, and from it I infer that he is seeing different output than what I saw. (He mentions 2 packets DNAT'd but I see only 1 in what I reviewed, for instance.) It really helps diagnosis if he and I both look at the same information, Josh.

I just noticed that wjhile nat::net_dnat reports DNAT'ing only 1 packet, default::net2loc reports ACCEPT'ing 2 packets. So I suppose we were just looking in different places (though I don't know where the second packet, and extra 38 bytes, came from).
