my second problem is to load this PCMCIA Card....
I had two problems: I did not copy the modules into the correct directory,
they have to be in the pcmcia-sub-dir, not in the
modules-sub-dir....
And: I always looked into /var/log/messages, so I did not see the output from cardmgr, unless I looked at /var/log/syslog.. Stupid I am (was ;-) )
The second seems like a bug in pcmcia.lrp.
it is PCIC_OPTS in the pcmcia defaults file: -------------------- snip PCMCIA=yes PCIC=i82365 PCIC_OPTS=i365_base=0x3e2 <----- here I got problems ;-) CORE_OPTS= CARDMGR_OPTS= -------------------- snap
After I commented it out, cardmgr was running. For my both notebooks this Base Adress *must not be provided*.
Is it a bug for my notebooks and a feature for others ?? ;-) Should I test it on more notebooks ?
Where should "might.be.bugs" be reported ? On this list or somewhere on leaf.sourgeforge ?
have a great day !
