enough of a firewall/router that I don't need LEAF.

The problem is that the Actiontec box gets assigned an IP address via
dhcp, and it requires my LEAF box to have a separate IP address. But
I want to use ezipupd.lrp to publish my IP for external access. The

Eric,
I've got DSL through Qwest as well - actually Qwest for the actual line, Visi.com for the ISP, and I too have the actiontec. I struggled for quite a while with what you're trying to do here, and eventually gave up because the actiontec is just too limited a device to be able to do what you need it to. My solution was to purchase a static IP which effectively cuts the actiontec out of the picture. With a static IP, you tell the actiontec to hand out your static IP via dhcp, and that's that. Your leaf machine gets a public, static IP address, and you can do what you please.

If you don't want to go this route, poke around the actiontec web interface screens a bit. (depending on the firmware version you're running - mine's 1.60.10.0.51-R1520SU) you should be able to click on "Status" from the main screen, and see what the Actiontec thinks it's IP address is - which should be the public IP that you need to update with ez-ip-update.

If you can see the IP address on the actiontec's web interface, then you can probably screen scrape it, right? and if you can screen scrape the address, then you should be able to hand that off to ez-ip-update or some other similar program.
