Lsmod shows serial as the first module, but shows it as (unused), with

Just copy the ....zImage.upx file to the file 'linux' on your floppy 
disk (or other boot media).  You may have to replace any kernel modules 
you're using, as well.

I'll give it a try tomorrow and report back.
