I should preface this by saying that I'm a complete newbie to Linux, so I may
be doing something boneheaded here, but I've done my best to find any online
information on my problem and I'm stumped.

I'm running LEAF on a old 486DX machine (GA-AM486AM/S w/ 120MHz Am486DX4-S
and 32Mb RAM) and I'm using Bering-uClibc 2.0 (w/ uClibc-0.9.20).

Up till now I've been using two NIC's, an ISA PnP 3Com 3C509B Etherlink III
and a PCI RealTek RTL8139C Fast Ethernet Card. Both work fine.

Now my problems: I've just installed a 3rd NIC. Its an ISA PnP Compex FL-
16PNP FreedomLine16 Rev. 2A, and I can't get Linux to recognize it.

I've tried the card in a friends modern Mandrake (kernel 2.6) machine and it
worked fine, and my old 486's PnP bios reports the existance of the card, so
I know it works. (I wish I had thought to write down the io port and irq that
Mandrake found it at -- but I didn't, and getting my friend to open his
machine again would be a hassle).

My Googling for the card and my problem turned up a few messages saying that
they've gotten the card to work with the ne.o driver, so that's what I've
been trying (using likely sounding io addresses like 0x300, 0x350, etc).

I also discovered that the isapnp tools are recommened for diagnosing the
exact sort of problem I seem to be having, but they haven't been ported from
Bering to Bering-uClibc. As far as I can tell the clibc207.lrp package is
intended for just this situation. So, I installed both packages and they are
being loaded at boot time, but I find myself unable to run pnpdump.

Any attempt to do so results in a message of "pnpdump: not found" despite it
being in my /sbin directory and having the same execute permissions as most
everything else in there. I can run other /sbin programs without difficulty,
so I'm stumped. I have checked and the clibc207 package is being installed
although I don't know enough to tell if its installed correctly and is being
found.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I should go from here and how I
should proceed? Any hints on diagnosing ISA card troubles under Bering-uClibc
would also be helpful.
