Erich, 
since shorewall is "only" a collection of shell-scripts with ash (not 
dash!)  in mind, it's easy to upgrade for Bering users with the lrp's 
provided by Tom or in the Bering-uClibc cvs tree or from the 
Bering-uClibc packages page.
