Ah, that worked (for packets going completely through the fw).
Output from pings on internal host like
... 190.111.50.6 > (IP of rtr beyond lab gw) ...
e.g., 190.111.50.6 is what 192.168.10.1 internal host is natted to.

But no reverse traffic.  Must the be lab gw router.
