My experience with copying (image) files with scp indicate that these speeds might be normal: I had bering and bering-uclibc running on a pentium 133 PC. I also regularly copied images of 2 1680KB floppy disks to another computer over 100Mbit lan and I recall (not sure) speeds of about 400 KB/s. This is a bit faster than the earlier mentioned 64MB in 5 min ~= 220 KB/s. I now have bering-uclibc running on a pentium2 266 and get speeds of 500-600 KB/s. This relatively small increase might also be due to the fact that the dropbear ssh server is optimized for size and not for speed. Copied from the dropbear option.h configuration: /* Set this if you want to use the DROPBEAR_SMALL_CODE option. This can save several kB in binary size, however will make the symmetrical ciphers (AES, DES etc) slower (perhaps by 50%). Recommended for most small systems. */ #define DROPBEAR_SMALL_CODE Jaap ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Discover Easy Linux Migration Strategies from IBM.
