Hello,
#1 I built a new version of the router this weekend and found out there are still some old drivers being used in the distro. Please see below-

That's madwifi-old, where did you get wlanconfig from? wlanconfig is
only for madwifi-ng and totally unneeded for madwifi-old.

Bye, Mike

So I went back and replaced the drivers with all the ath_x.o drivers Eric Spakman was kind enough to send me in the end of December. Now the system is closer to working for me. BTW, I see a typo above but even when I typed it correctly I was getting that error.

#2 Now if I type-
"ip address show"
I get both the ath0 and wifi0 devices listed. My ath0 device has the IP address I assigned in the interfaces file. The wifi0 device has no IP. Is this normal or should they both have an IP address? I also found if I try to scan to find the AP (my router) it does not find it. So, I must assume it is not working just yet.

If I type-
"iwconfig" it lists my interfaces and wifi0 is found and says "no wireless extensions" (or something similar -I am writing this from memory and not at my normal PC right now). However, the ath0 interface is also listed and it gives all the details for the interface. Again, is this normal?

My end goal is to use my router as the AP with madwifi. I also am using hostapd because I want to use the WPA encryption available. I have pointed the hostapd.conf to the madwifi driver. What do I need to do to be able to connect to my AP? I am sure I am missing something. If someone could tell me in general terms how this setup should work I would greatly appreciate it. Many thanks!!!
-Jeremy
