A few days ago I upgraded from Bering uClib 2.4-beta1, which was
working fine, to 2.4-rc1. With the new version, I'm finding that
dnsmasq stops working: stops providing DNS and stops providing leases
to machines on my network. DNS works fine on the router. Once I
restart dnsmasq on the router, all's fine: DNS works, and new lease
requests are granted.

It seems to be happening once or twice/day. I don't see anything in the
router logs about dnsmasq having shut down, but didn't think to check
whether it was running before restarting it. I did try running tcpdump
on the router while running 'dig' on another machine, and saw this:

07:41:59.158469 chloris > bimmer: icmp: chloris udp port domain unreachable [to\
s 0xc0]

which is consistent with there being no dns service on the expected
port.

I have made absolutely no changes to dnsmasq.conf between 2.4-beta1
and 2.4-rc1. I may have changed other packages, but only trivially.

dnsmasq was upgraded from "2.24 Rev 1" to "2.26 Rev 1" between 2.4
beta 1 and 2.4 rc1. Is there any reason I couldn't downgrade the single
package to see if that helps?

Any ideas what's up, or how to get closer to an answer? I *will*
check if dnsmasq is running next time before restarting it.

Thanks,

--Eric
