Ron,

I dont think I would have too much problem with the USB side - at least 
with the hardware I am using which I normally configure by booting from 
a USB memory stick, and I have usbcore and usb-uhci loaded.

Effectively the hardware is a mini desktop system but with an IDE flash HDD.

There may be problems supporting CAPI/ISDN, but this is not an absolute 
part of the requirement for my purposes.
