Thanks! I uncommmented that line and added a rule to my shorewall to allow tcp 1023 and it worked!
If I have questions about snmp on the leaf box, do I post them here or find another list? I'm trying to use prtg (plan to use mrtg...one step at a time). PRTG can connect to a windows box and get snmp data, so I don't think the issue is prtg. When I try to connect to the leaf box it can't connect. I've looked through the doc. I stopped when it starting talking about the RRD app. I *assume* that prtg/mrtg is the RRD app, correct? -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Eric Spakman Sent: Sunday, July 09, 2006 10:29 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [leaf-user] lrpstat Hi Rob, For getting lrpstat to work you have to uncomment the following line in /etc/inetd.conf: #stat stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/tcpd /usr/sbin/lrpStat After that, save etc.lrp and reboot.
