Perhaps.

I've downloaded the 2.4.2 iso image and without renaming I booted the image 
successfully with qemu:
(qemu -cdrom Bering...iso.bin).

I burned with the same image a CD-RW with k3b and booted it successfully on an 
IBM 330 75Mhz (with an eleven year old BIOS).

This makes me believe the images are ok.
