When looking at dmesg I saw the following:

<6>wd1100.c: a few hacks by [EMAIL PROTECTED]
<3>wd1100.c: Can't register device.
..

whereas on my friend's WRAP (still 2.x) I do not see the second line, so it 
could be the reason

BTW, what does <6> or <3> mean from dmesg? The old dmesg does not write such 
numbers at the beginning of each line.
