Fellow Bering-users,

I have a continuation of the story:

Even after a complete reinstall of the buildtool
environment did the same failure take place.
It was always gengenrtl that complained. After
some unsuccessful hacking at the makefile for buildenv
I found a workaround:

  /lib/libc.so.0 and /lib/libm.so.0

are symbolically linkt to

  ...../staging/lib/libuClibc-0.9.28.so
                    libm-0.9.28.so

Both were needed to enable building of 'buildenv'.
I am suspicious of this workaround, since I definitely
did not do this the very first time I installed the
buildtool. At the moment my laptop is compiling the
kernel for Bering-uClibc. I will check later check
whether my Debian system is unharmed by all this
trickery.

I do hope one of the wizards on the list will
comment, as I am somewhat alarmed.

   Regards
             Mats E Andersson
