Mats; 
there has been more than 300 downloads of 3.1-beta2; and statistically around 
50% uses dhcpcd with their cable modems - and only one bug report has arrived 
yet. This is obviously not a "hidden" function - you can connect or you 
can't. So if something is that fundemental has a bug, I'd expected a lot more 
complaints.
Are you shure that qemu isn't the problem? Can you doublecheck on a real 
machine with real access to the net?
