Rob; 
yes it mostly works that way. The main difference and advantage is that you 
don't save the changes with the packages, but in a configdb (which is 
currently a file not some database)  instead. That way you can easily update 
packages without the need to reconfigure. But from a users view,  saving the 
configuration is still possible on a floppy.
You'll find on the the floppy only the configuration though.
