Dear Adam, > I think there is an issue with something in initrd.lrp and Hyper-V's > hardware emulation. if you find out what exactly that is, I'm sure you'll make many people happy. Nobody I know of has figured that out so far (with regard to other VMs like qemu).
> Then the VM just reboots, I'm thinking kernel or hardware incomparability > with Hyper-V emulated hardware, Right - and my guess is, that's why Gordon suggested using a CD instead of using a floppy image. I never managed to get the Kernel 2.6 version of Leaf to boot on qemu myself, but I didn't try all that hard. Once I found out that I could make it boot by specifying a kernel and initrd on the command line, and it booted that way, that was fine for me. See http://www.mail-archive.com/leaf-devel%40lists.sourceforge.net/msg09150.html for details. It's not exactly the same as you're seeing (since this was about qemu hanging when trying to boot from harddisc, but still). Basically, you can try to debug Hyper-V, if you care enough, and have the time, or you could try to work around it. And using a boot CD sounds like something worth trying, since it shouldn't cause a ton of extra effort, and it might work.
