Hi Erich,

FYI, the initrd.lrp and initrd_i486.lrp files are identical (in an i486
"image"). When writing the image, all of the initrd_*.lrp files get
copied into the image (because they match the pattern *.lrp) and then
the specific initrd for the target platform gets re-copied as
initrd.lrp.

These errors are normally due to using e.g. an i686 module with an i486
image. Is there any chance you might have got a mis-matching kernel and
initrd?
