Just a quick update, I have tried the 5.0 alpha and it does not work with the intel D2700 motherboard. The soekris lan 1741 has the same problem. Other realtek network cards and an smc card don't report errors, but proxy arp does not work. I used the same card on a debian squeeze system and it works fine.
