Thanks kp for the explanation UPDATE_MODDB. In my case I leave Leaf running
24/7 on very low power machines and have plenty of space, so I will
set UPDATE_MODDB=false, and also change my standard update procedure. In
the past I always ran the "Find & load modules for hardware" from lrcfg and
then "Backup modules". Not necessary any more, thanks!

I will be happy to make a point to always test beta versions and release
candidates on my two Soekris boxes. The setup is simple and not too many
packages loaded, but as we saw with 486, you never know when a problem
might be exposed. I have been using Leaf as my router since the lrp/Dave
Cinege days so I guess I owe the recent developers at least that much help
:-)

So maybe this long thread is finally ended!!!
