Yes. It seems like its all about structure and arithmetic (addition and 
subtraction).
Key terminology and appropraite categorization is very important . This is 
where I am probably struggling the most. 

I need to mostly keep track of these accounts (A = L + E),  

BusinessName:Assets:
BusinessName:Liabilities
BusinessName:Equity
BusinessName:Expenses 

Suppliers:
Freight Forwarder:
Customer: 

Youtube offers some helpful tutorials too.
