Hi --
Apologies in advance if (as likely) there's an easy solution to this. I've
looked through the documents and searched the web and simply can't find it.)
I recently traveled through several different countries, and decided this
time to take advantage of Ledger's ability to handle multiple currencies.
(On previous trips, I rather laboriously converted all transactions to USD
before recording them.)
Most things have gone rather smoothly. However, when I do a ledger report,
asking that everything be presented in USD, I get lines like this:
2015/07/30 Prague Castle 375.00 czk
{$0.04104} [15-Jul-30] $46.46
2015/07/30 Prague Castle Photography permit
$0.01 $46.47
2015/07/30 Prague Castle Photography permit 50.00
czk $48.52
and multiple lines like this:
2015/07/31 Commodities revalued
$-0.18 $17.36
2015/08/01 Commodities revalued
$0.18 $17.54
2015/08/02 Commodities revalued
$0.01 $17.55
2015/08/03 Commodities revalued
$0.01 $17.56
2015/08/04 Commodities revalued
$-0.01 $17.55
I have two questions --
- With regard to the first example, is it possible to get a report without
the amount in the non-USD currency and without the conversion rate and
date? That is could I get this:
2015/07/30 Prague Castle $46.46 $46.46
instead of this:
2015/07/30 Prague Castle 375.00 czk
{$0.04104} [15-Jul-30] $46.46
- Second, with regard to the second example, could I set it so that these
commodities/currencies aren't revalued every time I exchange USD for
another currency?
Thanks --
John
