Manipur, which affects her career and life. She faces corruption and bias 
from the officials, who try to sabotage her chances of representing India 
in international events. She also faces rivalry from other female boxers, 
who are jealous of her success and popularity. She proves herself by 
winning the gold medal at the 2002 World Boxing Championships in Turkey, 
becoming the first Indian woman boxer to do so.
The movie then returns to the present, where Mary Kom is preparing for her 
final match at the 2008 World Boxing Championships. She faces a tough 
opponent from North Korea, who had defeated her in a previous tournament. 
She also has to cope with the news of her father's death, which she learns 
just before the match. She dedicates her fight to her father and wins the 
gold medal for the fourth time, making history and inspiring millions.
