Thanks Chris,
You were right. the password for my user was like 20 characters long! That
is, when i went back into the admin.pl the password field had like 20
asterisks in it. I changed it and then I was able to enter in login.pl.
Actually now that I look at it again the 20 asterisks are back. So i guess
the number of asterisks is not indicative of the length of password. It is
just a security measure. So my best guess is just as you said: I entered
the password wrong. Since it doesn't have double password entry (ie enter
and confirm) this seems easy to do.
Perhaps that is a improvement for the future?
