Pg 8.3 is supported on a best-effort basis at the moment. We know of a few people running LSMB 1.2.13 or higher on Pg 8.3 with no problems but we cannot guarantee you will not run into any (put it through testing with the intended workflows first).
A larger issue is Perl 5.10.0 which seems to cause point of sale screens to crash in part. This is partly resolved in my test instance and I am trying to track down some sort of a double-free bug that occurs there. Most likely it occurs in one of the dependencies but I have not tracked this down yet.
