I agree with most you've written but I think when you consider Hull didn't really create a decent chance I think you have to give credit to the back 4. The 2 goals were a bit freaky.
>>>(Rich you are being a bit >>>churlish about that one, the keeper was beaten). It was screaming out >>>for us to get men bombing down the wings with fresh men in the middle. As I said it was a decent effort but the keeper was beaten because it hit the bar. Any lower and the keeper would have got it from my view. Anyway as you say Becchio was labouring for most of the match and should have been replaced eariler .. in fact not picked at all. The crowd signing hisname every two minutes is right getting on my tits. ----- Original Message ---- From: David Woolmer <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Wed, 10 November, 2010 10:50:48 Subject: [LU] Hull Not often I find Rich W being more optimistic than me in his match reports! I thought this was an absolutely diabolical result. Make no mistake Hull were rubbish. They didn't look capable of scoring a goal all night and yet we contrived to gift them 2. Schmeichel made a complete dogs dinner of organising his wall for the first (he hasn't looked at the races since he came back from injury) and god only knows what Johnson was doing for the 2nd. Too annoyed at the performance to say much more, other than complete astonishment at how bad Grayson's in match tactics were last night. He abandoned the 4-5-1 which had been so effective in our last 2 matches almost immediately when we went behind - you don't get the impression he likes the system at all, and he grabs the first chance he gets to go 4-4-2. But then sticking Gradel through the middle is a complete waste. The guy was on fire down the wing at Scunny and Cov. He is vastly less effective through he middle. Johnson seemed to be kept on solely because he scored - he was hopeless otherwise. Everyone around me was saying take off Johnson, put Gradel back out wide and bring on Somma. Yet no. And what the hell was the point in bringing Paynter on for Becchio after 89 minutes? Becchio was labouring all second half, other than one very good effort against the bar (Rich you are being a bit churlish about that one, the keeper was beaten). It was screaming out for us to get men bombing down the wings with fresh men in the middle. Ironically given my above rant we did actually look more solid as a back four, but I don't know whether we can read much intio that as Hull were so powder puff up front. Hull were completely there for the taking. A very bad 2 points dropped. Let's hope a return to a Saturday 3pm kick off can change our home form. _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman-new.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] MARCHING ON TOGETHER _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman-new.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] MARCHING ON TOGETHER
