This was a strange game. Conditions were very blustery, Scunthorpe were woeful,
and Leeds won at a canter without ever really breaking sweat. A lot of good
outcomes though...............not too hard before the replay, some nice goals,
some progress towards correcting our woeful goal difference, a runout for some
of those fringe strikers, a clean sheet.

Watt's goal came when their defence completely collapsed in the middle, but he
finished it with a right rasper from 20 yds. Then Max went right up the middle
as well, keeper basically dived out of his way, and he kept going and rolled
the ball home. No 3 came when a great run by Snoddy was halted but the ball
rolled out to Bradders 25 yds out whose uncleanly struck shot bounced past the
keeper into the corner.

The 2nd half was notable mostly for 45 mins to watch Paynter, on in place of
Becchio. He had a few decent touches, but considering you would expect him to
be absolutely bursting to make an impact, I thought he was disappointing. A few
half-hearted chances came & went, McC & Somma joined the fun (Somma managed to
block a goalbound shot from the former on the line with the keeper beaten) and
finally Max slid the ball to Somma who quickly overcame his astonishment that
Max had released it and drilled it across the keeper for no 4.
