and that, my children, is why I'm still on the list. You never know when a
nugget might appear!!

Subject: [LU] Hello hello I'm back again.

Following an 'encounter' with your erstwhile List Administrator in Pizza
Express in Headingley on Saturday last I have re-joined the Leeds List and I
see it is pretty much the same lot as were on it whwn I gave up on things LU
(not that I have started again with LU again).
'Mid East investor?' Is the Mid East in this case somewhere around Selby?

The last game I went to at ER was in March 2003 just prior to the removal of
Venables where they got beat 3-2 by the Smoggies. The last football game I went
to was in 2008 at Morecambe, that Jewel of the Lancashire Coast, the seaside
town they tried to close down. have freqented Leeds RL on several occasions, as
you usually see a sporting encounter with a lively crowd that isn't over
expensive (and I can leg it in 15 mins).

I have now packed in IT after 34 years - one's last job was a Senior IT Project
Manager at KCOM in Wakey - the draw of managing yet another upgrade to M$
Exchange for 2000 users was not very interesting so now I am landlording and
managing properties. I also have a voluntary job for the Settle and Carlisle
Railway Trust http://www.sandctrust.org.uk/ where we look after Horton in
Ribblesdale, Ribblehead ans Kirkby Stephen stations, have 2 holiday lets at
kirkby Stephen and I will be kepy busy with the refurbishment of the Station
Master's House at Ribblehead and its' conversion to a high end holiday let.

I have been asked to share the story of the Great Leeds lard fire once again
with those of you who have forgotton / didn't know / didn't listed 9seem to
remember it was in Woodies whwn everyone was pissed).

Sadly Morrisons in Bramley is no more - it used to have the finest lard
Selection in the area with around 32 different varieties and sizes of the
delectable animal fat (also called tallow in the good old days of rickets,
malnutrition and the like - now making a comeback)

Due to the wonderfulness of the www, there are now on line photos and you can
see it in all its' glory.

I have put it on my facebook page (or whatever it's called)

Scroll about 1/2 way down the first page (but the rest of it is v. interesting)
I've been asked again about The Great Leeds Lard fire. Some Googling threw up
these pages. I had a summer job on Leeds Station in 1977 and was given a grand
tour of the labryinth of tunnels and passages by the duty supervisor - more
interesting than unloading parcels or cleaning the bogs in the subway! Having a
ride to Stockport on the York Aberwrstwyth mail and back on the footplate of a
Deltic was another good use of a night shift.
