The debt that KB shed was mostly debt that had appeared on the books AFTER he took over the club. Quite where all that money was "spent" has never been explained or understood. There is very little - if any- real connection with Ridsdale & the Plc and the Bates administration event.<< Was there not some long-standing call on the club's finances (REFF? "Bondholders"?) resulting from Ridsdale's folly that was still in the background, and could not be cleared unless the club went through administration - ie the legal link between "oldclub" and "newclub" had to be severed? So in effect Bates "manufactured" enough debt to cause an administration event in order to rid the business of a much larger debt. Otherwise why bother with administration at all?
