I really worry that we're going to hugely regret this decision. In Redfearn we
have a manager in place who has proven himself able to get the best out of the
squad, who the players clearly trust, who knows the club inside and out, is not
afraid to give academy products their chance, and whose teams play attractive
football. Now we're getting a new guy who will have to learn everything about
the club and the players from scratch, while under massive pressure to keep up
the results that Redfearn was getting. Anything less than 10 points from the
next four games will be viewed as a step backwards. In the meantime, I'm not
sure that Cellino's view that Redfearn will now happily go on running the
academy having proven himself up to the task of getting wins running the first
team is a rational one. Far more likely is that another club with a managing
vacancy will come in for him. Given Cellino's record with "head coaches," it's
quite possible that by the end of the season neither Cellino nor Milanic will
be at the club.

Only at Leeds would we take a manager who's got the team in top-two form and
tell him, "You're not good enough - we have someone from the middle ranges of
the Austrian league in mind to replace you."

Cheers!

Sean
