Having slept on it I did think I was shortchanging my 'fans' on here with such
a perfunctory report, so I thought I would watch the (extended - we were on
first) highlights on Ch 5 and maybe add some things
The fact that our bit last less than 5 minutes including replays and showed one
free kick by Wood, one good move which ended with Wood putting it into the side
netting and a last minute miss by Roofe showed there is not anything else to
say !
We missed Jansson massively - end of
Dave

My lad said " don't bother with a report - just put 3 words - spineless,
guileless, shite "
Spineless in defence, guileless in midfield and shite up front
To be fair that sums it all up - this was as bad a performance as we have had
since Monk sorted things out. We had 90minutes of huff and puff without
actually making their keeper make a proper save. At the back we left a Caridff
player on his own to head home the first totally unmarked and then watched them
waltz through for the second
Even worse they were dreadful and came just to frustrate us

Cannot be arsed going through it all - Rich has it pretty much spot on - they
were there to stop us playing and we had no idea what to do
A win on Tuesday will put a better spin on it but 4 defeats in 6 games ( 3 in 5
in the league) should be enough to start to worry us

Lots of ways of looking at this game but here's my take.

For the first time this season a team came to contain us and sat deep and just
let us pass it around. I'd be surprised if we had less than 60 % throughout
today but we didn't have the fire power to hurt Cardiff who were a team of big,
talentless bastards. Our best performances - Villa, Derby were against teams
who came to Elland Road thinking they could beat us and pushed forward. Neil
Warnock, the canny old cunt came with no attacking intentions at all. It worked
although I think he was lucky.

Had Jansson been playing today I think we would have won. Free headers in the
box from set pieces don't happen when he's playing with Bartlett but as hard as
Cooper tried today he just isn't up to their level and it really unsettles us
when he plays. Maybe Ayling with Bartlett is the preferred pairing when Jansson
is not playing.

I've just heard Monk's post match interview with Popey and he reckons he knew
that Cardiff would set up with 11 men behind the ball. If that's the case why
play with one up front. Bamba and the or big twat at the back had Chris Wood in
their pocket most of the match but we just toiled and passed square balls
around the park. Our formation relies on two wingers and an attacking
midfielder but when one of those wingers is Stuart Dallas and the other a young
lad making his home debut and first start you're always going to struggle.
Whilst Padraza ( or someone with a name like that) stood on the left wing
stroking his cock, Dallas tried to make things happen down the right. All our
play went down the right wing in the first half and time after time it just
petered out. Dallas is not a winger and I'm not really sure want he is apart
from not good enough.

With a game like this where we're having to make 20 passes to try and create
some space you're relying on Hernandez to do something special and credit to
him he tried everything to make it work but short of beating 9 big bastards and
slamming it home it was never going to happen. For all our possession their
keeper hasn't had to make a decent save all afternoon. We had two excellent
free kick opportunities but Woods passed one back to their keeper whereas
Hernandes failed to get it over the big bastards in the wall.

Very frustrating first half but we didn't look in trouble and it was in,y a
matter of time.

Nope - difference was Warnock was looking for the win and continued to be happy
watching us play aimless football in their half. Credit to Leeds because we
came out with much more energy and intensity second half and started to trouble
them. Dallas had obviously had a rocket up his arse and he came looking for the
ball. It didn't last long because Monk dragged him off and replaced with Sacko.
It wasn't the right solution though, we needed an option to play someone up
alongside the hapless Wood but there's not many players that can do that (
Roofe maybe ?). I think Doukara was brought in to do that but the lad didn't
have a clue what he was doing when he came on. A pointless substitution.

At the other end the inevitable happened. A set piece, an unmarked big bastard
in the penalty box and an easy goal. Rob Green didn't even fucking move. One of
the worst goals I've seen at Elland Road for a long time. Panic set in then and
we tried to chase the game but we just lost all our shape and it was up to
Hernandes to try and equalise on his own. We had one or two half chances but
never looked dangerous.

At the other end we panicked, Vierra lost the ball and let their only short
arse in to pull it back for an easy tap in. 2-0 game over,

We continued to push forward and Roofe missed our best chance of the game and
in the end it petered out.

Fair play to Warnock , he out thought Monk who needs to think about a plan B
when teams come to defend like this. You can't play one up front ! Basics.

Scores

Green -  4. Didn't have anything to do other than pick the ball out of the net
twice.

Ayling - 6 I thought he did ok first half and really tried to get things going
down the right with Dallas ( that was never going to happen). Second half I
thought he got the run around a bit by Cardiff 's best and only player.

Beradi - 7 I thought he did really well. He really showed determination and put
himself on the line a few times. Never looks completely comfortable at left
back though. As good as Ayling as been I think Beradi would be the better right
back.

Bartley - 4. For all those who think Bartlett has been the real success at the
back rather than Jansson can they answer the question why he looks like Sol
Bamba on a bad day when he plays with Cooper ? He was over the place today.

Cooper - 4. He seems to be trying too hard and although he gets through a lot
of good work he always looks vulnerable. I'm afraid he's not quite good enough
for a team chasing the play offs.

Bridcutt - 3. Mouthy little cunt, got booked and then did his usual bad tackle
and he had to go. Very ineffective today.

Vierra - 5. Started well but struggled to make things happen. I've no problems
with his lad though.

Dallas - 3. I think the game is up for this lad. He's overrated and for me he
is not good enough. League one player. He's definitely not a winger.

Pedroza - 5. I think he's got potential and he reminds of Lee Sharpe. He plays
the game in a laid back way and today he did a lot of good things but
ultimately the final ball or play just didn't come off for him. I think there's
a question to ask whether his introduction has unsettled us because he is a
different type of player.

Wood - 2. No doubt his fans will say ,he didn't have the service. Well yes but
I think this game empathised his lack of general ability. He's slow, no
acceleration, flat footed and actually for someone who has scored 21 goals
shows real lack of awareness. I don't rate him. 21 goals says I'm wrong though
but I can only report what I see and today he was shite.

Subs

Sacko -5 . A few decent runs / touches but I don't think he's good enough

Doukara - 1 useless

Roofe - 1 missed our best chance.

So we lost in the cup , made a couple of strange signings and now it's all gone
tits up. Haven't we seen this all before.

Don't panic though folks. Bristol Shitty up next, a guaranteed 3 points.

Monks said Jannson phoned in sick ! What ?
