OK maybe I am the only one who thinks Cibicki did ok. Also Alisoski worked his bollocks off. But you lot know best (didn't someone else say that? :-) ) Nick On Saturday, December 23, 2017, 3:42:43 PM EST, nat...@sky.com <nat...@sky.com> wrote: Well for the second home game on the trot we have got the three points and kept a clean sheet, but as in the last game (v Norwich) this was a game that will soon be forgotten Against Norwich we did at least deserve the points, today that was no way near the case. If i was a Hull fan I would have left ER thinking that we had been robbed From first to last they were the better team - they were sharper, more committed and better on the ball. I have not see the statistics but I reckon they had much more possession, were in our half for most of the game and had more shots (not hard since apart from the goal I can only remember one decent shot (Alioski) and one awful wayward one (Cibiscki) when Lassogga was well placed for a cross. The defining moment of the game was the goal - for some reason as Roofe ran at him, their keeper kicked it out straight to one of our players just outside the box . Unluckily for them and thankfully for us, that player was Hernandez, perhaps the one player on the pitch (with Saiz missing) who was capable of capitalising on the error. He played a glorious chip back over the keeper head and into the net (albeit for a while we all thought it was going over) and so totally against the run of play we went one up on the half hour Before the goal we had been well outplayed and only two good saves from Wieldwald and some poor finishing and some poor final ball had kept us in it Second half - with O'Kane replacing Phillips - we did look a bit more composed and at least looked solid at the back. Having said that we spent most of the second half watching the clock tick down hoping that by the time they scored what we thought was the inevitable equaliser , there would not be time for them to get a winner. Instead they seemed to run out of steam and ideas and we did manage to see out the half without letting them have any real chances Pontus is back to his best and Cooper had one of his good games (as he has so often this year to be fair) and so, although their number 9 caused us massive problems and looked a real handful, we kept them at bay. The keeper and back four all had good games, Vieirra had a good game, but in front of them everyone was average at best and poor at worst. Hernandez, goal apart, was invisible, Alioski was back to his falling over worst, Roofe showed that unless he gets good service he is a waste of a shirt, and Cibicki showed why it has taken him so long to get into the team. Phillips and later O'Kane were both off the pace. So, all in all, a forgettable game and three points stolen but it is three more points towards what we need and it means we will spend Christmas in the top six. Can we stay there? Who knows but with 2 easyish away games we should still be in a play off position when we host Forest on New Years Day to start 2018 All the best to all on here and Leeds fans everywhere = Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Dave _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: https://mailman.gn.apc.org/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email leedslist-unsubscr...@gn.apc.org
