Watching the u23s semi final last night (v Coventry) I thought that Clarke looked back to what he was pre illness - whether he can do it at first team level as he was doing earlier in the season or we are all expecting too much only time will tell , but he did seem to be back on form. taking on and beating players and putting in good crosses etc. As for the game it was just like watching the first team - fast flowing football -m which was great but, it was also, like watching the first team in that despite totally dominating the game we ended up needing extra time to scrape through 3 -2, we wasted so many chances, some unlucky hitting both the post (twice) and the bar, watching the keeper make a series of good saves, missing the target on too many occasions, and taking the extra pass or touch and not shooting when the opportunity arose.
