Whilst a lot of channels were listing Norman's honours yesterday, I don't think 
any mentioned that he was the inaugural "Player's Player of the Year".
I always thought that his fellow professionals voting for him above anyone 
else, ought to put the "Dirty Leeds" allegations into some sort of perspective.

My favourite memory: towards the end of the seventies he returned to Elland 
Road with Bristol City. There was a lot warmth for him with songs being sung.
When a particularly robust tackle got him a yellow card, the songs went up in 
volume and he had to sheepishly acknowledge the crowd.
