Yes, that's the poorest piece of defending I've seen this season and all the
stranger that it was arguably our best performer this season. You very really
see a defender allow an attacker so much space that they are able to get a
goalside shot that ends up in the far corner, they usually have to check and
come back around the defender to achieve that. White made it really easy for
him.

Given Brentfords goal difference, there’s effectively a 5 point cushion - I’m
not at all confident after the last 3 games. When we were playing our most
exciting Bielsa team, then the left hand side had an actual left back (Douglas,
Davies or Alioski), linking with Harrison - hopefully Dallas getting crocked
will mean we can go back to that. Alioski has to start. As for Phillips, I’d
rather have Shackleton in. We need to bring our youth through, and sadly Dallas
is no James Milner.
Last time we went to Div 1 we had a midfield of Strachan, MacAllister, Speed,
Vinny, Batty etc - the first year up, when we finished 4th, was the most
exciting season I’ve ever seen - what chance of a repeat with this bunch?
Finally, that corner routine - ok, we may be powderpuff in the air, but to
sweep the ball back 40 yards or hit the first defender time and again was just
obtuse - it was as if Phillips was having a competition with himself to see if
he could make every consecutive corner worse than the previous one! He could!
I don’t buy Kev’s assertion about Phillips flexibility - I thought he was a bag
of shite!
