Well, Burnley have joined us in the school of  “hard knocks “
Like us , defending brilliantly for 93 mins then throwing it all away with a
daft mistake - ours the own goal , theirs a not necessary penalty. I did not
watch their game but the stats show 80+% possession ( for what it’s worth to
Liverpool) but more relevant an XG of 0.3 or similar Our possession was much
more even but again an XG of 0.5 shows where the issue liesI thought we played
well overs and “deserved a point” as the saying goes but as I repeatedly said
to my lad as we watched us on tv “ going for 0-0 is fine but it means one
mistake / lapse of concentration or one bit of brilliance by them and we lose”
Unfortunately I was proved right. We do look basically sound at the  back (
Arsenal excepted) but if you can’t score you can’t win and we need, according
to accepted wisdom , 10 wins to stay up.

4 games , not only without a (open play) goal but more concerning, without a
single, not a one, clear cut chance in those 360+ minutes of football, does not
bode well, even if a point a game (4 from 4 so far ) would keep us up
