Is anyone else a little confused about this alleged appeal for Crainey's
second yellow card?

My understanding has always been that you cannot appeal anything that a ref
has given on what he sees at the time, unless it's a straight red card for
violent conduct, when you can appeal.

So even if Crainey got a straight red, I don't think he could appeal because
it wasn't for violent conduct, and there is no chance of an appeal for a
yellow card.

It interesting that story has come direct from Crainey, and not an official
source, and it's based on the ref agreeing to look at this incident again.

I'm not too surprised a player isn't necessarily aware of the intricacies of
appeals, but if the ref did agree to look at it again I think its quite
telling on him that he doesn't even know the rules of the game!

Assuming I am right of course..
