My point is - so what how someone came to live in a country, so what who 'owned' the land before, so what about your or my opinion of the place or the history.
Its not 'our' country to give away. We have absolutely no say in what happens with the Falklands. No, life is not all black and white, but when it comes to things like this, why try and muddy the waters. What does it matter if Argentina has an alterior motive for wanting the Island. What does it matter if GB had one eye on Gibraltar when deciding to go to war with Argentina. It all boils down to GB wanting the Island, Argentina wanting the Island but crucially the islanders themselves wanting to remain British. There is absolutely no point in trawling back through history to justify giving the place back. History is history, its passed, its gone, all you can do is try and learn lessons, you cannot undo what has been done. There would have to be a bloody good reason for giving back the Falklands, especially as lots of lives were lost fighting for it, and lots of money spent fighting for it. There is no good reason. "I have no interest in it" is no good reason. "Some argies might have a use for it" is no good reason.
