You're making the very rash assumption that anyone a) gives a toss what any of them say b) anyone listens to them anyway. I saw a bit of Question Time, and was most amused (NOT) to be listening to that old granny from the Daily Mail 'lecturing' us on issues of racism/xenophobia. Bit f***ing rich to say the least. I did what all right thinking Northerners would do and immediately kicked the TV in.

I did hear some other politico the other night wondering why, if Germans could seemingly have better relations with the UK even after 2 relatively recent wars, why some Scots still felt so bitter about the English. Then again, is it much different to my general views on Cockneys?

Italy/Ukraine - much as I firmly believe the ref against Oz could easily have been Lippi's uncle or something, I actually don't much like these Eastern European teams much. There's a grimness about their football that matches their nationalistic tendencies, which I'm also not dead crazy about. Italy will win anyway - it'll penalties though. Hope Germany do the Argies too - I've been looking forward to that fat little f***er Maradona blubbing for a couple of weeks now!

Haven't really read up on this thread, but watched Question Time last
night and just wondered what people like Betty thought about Scotlands
First Minister stating that he'll support ANYONE but England at the World
Cup. No objections to Scots doing this, but is it the place of the first
minister to help whip up Anti Englishness???
