other teams are also starting to get their collective acts together. So,
without a run of 4 or 5 straight wins we are not going to get out of this, and
unless we get between 3 and 11 players we're not going to win 4 or 5 on the
trot.
On the other hand, I'm trying to keep my spirits up by looking out for teams
further up the table who seem to be dropping into trouble with a bad run of
results.
First it was Palace. After winning the first three and topping the table in
August, they had a long winless run and fell down the table. They've
stabalised a bit since, but still don't look a very good side. The only trouble
is that Jordan may not put up with Peter Taylor for much longer, and may get a
better manager in.
Then I noticed that Luton lost five games on the trot after beating us. I
think they won the next game, but I get the feeling that all is not well behind
the scenes there, after Newell pulicly criticised his chairman.
Then it was Leicester who caught my eye with a poor run, although they ended
it by winning at Wolves on Saturday.
Now QPR are my latest hope, having lost their last four games. Gregory may be
repeating his performance at Derby, when he did well soon after taking charge,
but then lost the plot. Now you won't find anyone in Derby with a good word to
say about him.
So don't despair folks. Even though Hull and Barnsley may show signs of
getting it together, any of the above teams could yet drop into the bottom
three and give us other options for having enough other clubs to climb above
come the end of the season.
