The fact that we knew the Blunts were chasing Killa doesnt make his sale any
more easier to accept. There has been much reference to Killa being out of
contract this Summer but can anyone confirm this factually please? Its not
that long since Killa made a comment about being forced out of ER after been
awarded a MOTM award post match in the players lounge and I seem to recall
that he at least extended his contract some time last year. Would he do this
if he was desperate to leave?
I personally would have supported the transfer if we had other good centre
halves at the club (we havent) and we had got a decent fee (circa £3.5m). We
need all the quality players we have and if we go down this £1.75m will be a
drop in the ocean for this club. If Killa had to go why not swap him for
players like Morgan & Kabba who could have played a big part in keeping us
up. I want to know if Wise sold him because he thinks he has better players
and/or because he had to for financial reasons. If its for both reasons we
are well & truly f&cked!
I think having home grown players of quality in any squad is important for
more than just emotional reasons. They always give 100% and importantly act
as a reminder to the big time charlies of what it means to play for the club
and the standards expected.
No matter which way I look at this I cannot see it being good business for
Leeds United. Neither do I think he will be the last of our players to
leave. Can the last one to leave switch off the lights
please......................
