I didn't argue with the Nicholls thing when it happened. Butler had to go, that was obvious (Where is he now by the way?) and anyone who saw his reaction at West Brom (Diving into the stewards to get the ball back) would have thought he was exactly what we needed, but passion isn't everything and his footballing ability so far has hardly been awesome! Again, it's what goes, or is going, on behond the scenes that appears to be the problem. To tempt someone like Speed (A good option IMHO) or Holland, you have to start helping them lay the foundations for a move into management (if thats what they want) sell the job, don't just bloody offer it. What we need is to draw up a sensible action plan for the next 5 years. If I were Wise and spoke to, lets say Speed because of his Leeds connecions, I'd tell him I want him to captain this fresh, new, forward thinking team (Which I'm in the process of buying! ;-)) and I wanted him to be the cornerstone of the rebirth of the club. I'd make sure he went on whatever course he wanted to achieve his accreditations and finally suggest either a first management role as youth team manager or reserve.
