Well, to those who refused or could not afford to pay £25, since all the £15
tickets had gone, all I can say is you missed a cracker. This game was worth
however much anyone paid for it.
This was the best we have played all season, the players gave it everthing in
terms of passion and commitment and showed a lot of skill as well. With a bit
more luck we could have had a hatful - we hit the bar 3 times, had a couple
(including one absolute piledriver from Kissi) cleared off the line, the keeper
made a few saves, a few other shots were blocked and we missed a couple - Blake
at fault for one of the worst)
It looked like we would regret all those near misses when they were awarded a
penalty with only a few minutes to go but Casper became our Great Dane when he
saved with his feet !!
It was not totally one way traffic with them having a couple of chances
including missing an easy header in the last minute.
But it was a well deserved 3 points - bring on Leicester on Tuesday night !
This was the most cosmopoitan Leeds team I can ever remember with Denmark,
USA, Bulgaria, Slovakia, France, Repbulic of Ireland and Mozambique all being
represented in additon to the British players !
For me the real stars were Kissi who again looked class and Jemal Johnson who
caused them problems all afternoon, plus Casper with his penally save and
Cressy with a well taken goal when he turned the defender following good build
up play. They were ably backed up by the rest of the team, Lubo looked solid
for the most part and Heath had one of his better games, Frazer was good apart
from a dodgy ten minute spell and has learnt how to take a decent long throw.
Lewis did his job effectively, Douglas was here there and everywhere (albiet as
per usual was lacking in quality) Carole and Blake also had decent games. So
all round we looked positive and well balanced for once.
OK the Hull and Southend results went against us but at lest we have given
ourselves a fighting chance IF we can build on this.
The crowd (buzzing and loud throughout - so much better an atmosphere when
South Stand is full of Leeds) let Nicholls know what we think of him "Nicholls
is a wanker" " Nicholls whats the score" etc
Finally does anyone know what was blacked out in the programme ?
