Just a very quick report. This was probably the best day we've had at ER
this season: a crowd of 27,000 that created a great atmosphere, some
excellent attacking football and a well deserved win. We hit the wodwork
four times in the first half, including a superb Blake free kick that hit
the underside of the bar, hit the diving keeper on the back of the head and
then hit the post. Luton could have had no complaints if they had been 3 or
4 down at half time and Ankergren hadn't had a meaningful save to make.

We started the second half as we finished the first and Cresswell scored an
excellent goal, holding his man off, turning on a sixpence and rolling the
ball into the far corner. We continued to put Luton under heavy pressure,
but legs began to tire and we feared Luton might get an equakiser they
scarely deserved - especially when Heath (I think) tripped their attacker in
the box ans conceded a clear penalty. Thankfully the penalty was dreadful:
hit weakly straight at Ankergren.

What made the difference? Undoubtedly the injection of pace that we got
from starting with Carole and Johnson. Douglas's tireless running and total
commitment (at the final whistle he just dropped to his knees, totally
spent) was hugely important; a real captain's performance. This was the
best I've seen him play for Leeds and he was my MOM. Cresswell lead the
line superbly and Kishishev's guile and prompting in midfield was excellent.

Some ex-Leeds players came back: Spring as an unused sub, and Carlisle and
Feeney starting. Neither of them impressed and we had two chances down to
Carlisle's slip ups.

I was very proud to be a Leeds fan today.

Cheers,

Sean
