I did very much the same as you on this Guy - I watched the build up only to take in the experience of the new stadium (plus it was on BBC High Definition and made it all the better to watch) and the pre match stuff. I too was pleased to see peter Lorimer for the 1972 cup final (God, I remember so well being there that day - sigh!) - did I hear a few boos when his name was announced? There were certainly more cheers when the next representative for Sunderland (1973) was announced. (I yawned). I thought Lesley Garrett sang OK, but the other bird (who was she?) not only did sing off key as you mentioned Guy, but was almost singing too low to be heard.
Didn't watch the game - didn't give a shit - nor, it seems, did the players for most of the match Steve -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Guy Thornton Sent: 21 May 2007 23:02 To: Dunderhead; [email protected] Subject: Re: [LU] Bowya on a Free - would you? All places that make Albert Square look like > Monaco. beware the Brentford triangle ! not one comment on last saturdays's fa cup final? fair enough for apart from the no interest the game from reports was nto worth watching and i didn't. i did however cast an eye over the build up (well i'm a sucker for the tradition and all including abide with me, albeit lesley garret and the other female with her whose name i can't remember, seemed out of key) and the parade of footballing greats from the last 50 wembley finals and there was Peter Lorimer carrying the flag for 1972. guy _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
