..... Well if Bates is to be believed, the 6/7 million owed to the Taxman
was only the tip of the iceberg... It was not so much that the winding up
order that forced administration rather that it produced the news of 35
million pounds of debt that just, mysteriously appeared, in a timely fashion
and from equally mysterious major creditors who for some reason, known to
themselves still wanted only Bates to own the club....

Bates could have reached into his own back pocket and written a personal
cheque for the taxes, he'd, apparently "misappropriated/stolen."

In that way he'd have bought the club for an honest sum of 6 to 7 million,
plus the 5 or so that he'd originally put down. With his other major
creditors, apparently willing to forgo all debts He'd be in charge of an
almost debt free club and able to work out a payment schedule to the small
guys and I don't think anyone could be the slightest pissed off with the
situation, regardless of whether he, subsequently decided to run the club
and make it a force to be reckoned with or if he sold it, at a tidy profit
to the highest bidder.

But no! He decided to dodge his responsibilities, rip off all and sundry and
pull threats and stunts to force things through under a shroud of intrigue,
which leaves no one feeling good about it except himself, his cronies and a
couple of folk, on this list who cannot see further than their, "I'm
alright, Jack" mentality..

That being the case, who, in his /their right mind, would ever invest money
in the club (without ownership status), while this man is in power?
Follow that with his own assertions that the club is in desperate need of
outside investment and where are we, logically heading under his continued
control?

I am a loyal supporter and lover of this once mighty club and I do want to
see what is best for it.; however, I cannot see this sort of stink being
best for the club whether short or long term..
