Whatever the reasons, for wage deferral and whether Healey would play for us in Lge,1; the one thing that was clear is that we had a saleable asset with a full year left on his contract that we know, at least two Prem clubs (along with other supposed parties) are interested in purchasing. That was a situation ripe for getting the best possible price for our asset.
Now Bates has opened his mouth, in public and announced to the world that Healey will never play for the club under any circumstances and that he is not welcome..... Hmmm I wonder what that just did to his transfer value and our negotiating position? Hallelujah, the best way forward strikes again. And this from the man who said upon his arrival, that the days of negotiating transfers in public was over...All would be kept quiet and announced only when completed... No one expected Healey to be playing in the Third tier of footy so he had no need to justify the sale... It's just Bates being Bates and lashing out at anyone who doesn't give him his way... The time for such announcements, would have been after the deal was done... Strange that he hasn't announced the other 3 names and said they won't play for the club again isn't it? _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
