Come on then Joe ... Tell me who I should be listening to make me laugh?
Not a fan of Royston personally, but I did see him in the late 80's and,
to be fair (Mind you I'd had a few) I did find him funny then. Bernard was
hysterical on The Comedians, but that was 1973 and I was 9. Comedy is very
much each to their own, but I do object to the Gruadnian reader mentality
of jumping on bandwagons to tell us what we can and we can't laugh at. I
love a good stand up, politically correct or not. If it's funny, I'll
laugh. Eddie Murphy's piece about the runner collapsing in Harlem and then
getting his trainers nicked was a brilliant piece that had me in tears,
racist undertones? Yes, Politically Incorrect? Definately. Funny? As Fuck
if you ask me!
Also loved Bill Hicks, Dennis Leary and the tall one out of The Mighty
Boosh when he started out and won some Perrier award.
